A lot of empty space in a document

Hi everybody.

I have this case with a document, that I hope some of you might have an idea
how to solve.
It's a very long word document consisting of plain text, which I copy/pasted
from the internet. The problem is that there is a lot of space between the
written paragraphs, that is, a lot of empty lines inbetween the text,
consisting of nothing but a break. Is there some way I can remove these empty
lines, to make the document take on less space (it's over 3000 pages!!) and I
really wouldn't do it manually. I already tried the find/remove, but couldn't
figure out with my (lack of) skills.
