A macro (or other) that limits the number of computers a file can beviewed on?

Is there a macro (or something else) that limits the number of
computers an Excel file can be viewed on? I recently saw an Excel
based program for sale that allowed its users to view the product on
no more than 3 computers. How is this done? Thanks for any help you
can supply.
