a number next to calendar?

I just noticed in the upper left corner below where it says My Calendars a number (3) next to the word Calendar. I'm assuming it means I have 3 calendars? I don't recall creating others, how do I view them if that is what it is indicating and how might they have been created, does anybody know?

It means there are three "unread" items in your Calendar. If you switch
your Calendar view to something like By Category, an unfiltered table view,
you should be able to find three items that are in bold text, like an unread
e-mail message. If you "read" each of these items, the (3) next to your
Calendar in the My Calendars list should go away.
