A problem with Converting an Access Report to a Word Document

B

Bret

When I convert my access report to a word document I'm having problems with
the line wraps on the access paragraph, they come out on the word document as
returns instead of line wraps. Has anyone every seen this problem or know how
to fix it?

Thanks

Yes, I have seen formatting problems saving reports as RTF (which is how
they are done for Word). No, I don't have an answer. I have set word to show
the markup and seen some very odd output. That "translation" obviously does
not work nearly as well as we might like, in several versions.

I have had better luck saving as HTML, but it is still not really accurate.

I've been able to get "acceptable" output with a substantial amount of
experimentation and tweaking.

If it is just a matter of providing the output to users who do not have
Access, consider saving as a Snapshot and getting the Snapshot viewer. If
you need to do some additional modifications in Word, the Snapshot viewer
will not serve.

I have not done it, but have known of others who:

(1) used the Report facility to do the formatting of
an Access report, then in code behind various
Sections and Controls, wrote the data to a text
file or used COM automation to put it in a Word
document

or (2) just used COM automation to put the data in
a Word document.

You might create a Word document with fields and use the "mail merge", too.
