A program trying to access email addresses in Access

For the past three weeks, every time I start Outlook I get a message box from
Outlook stating that a program is trying to access my stored email addresses.
I have the choice of allowing this; allowing this for a specified time; or
to say no - which I always do, because Outlook states that if I am not
expecting to share the addresses, there could be a virus on my computer,
therefore I do not allow Outlook to give out the information.

However, when I say no, the program just hangs, nothing happens and I have
to close it down. Then I get a message at the bottom of the screen saying
that my Symantic virus checker is scanning outlook, but it never finds any
viruses.

I then wait a few minutes and reload Outlook. Sometimes it is ok after
this, and performs well for a period of time - which varies, until I get the
message again. Other times I have to restart the program again, and hope
that it works ok this time - for a period of time.

I update my virus checker every few days, but it makes no difference.

Does anyone please have a solution?

Thank you.
Helen

Do you have something in access that connects to outlook's message store?
That is the security message - for more information, see
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/esecup.htm.

if you wrote the code that is causing it, there are ways to avoid it -
outlookcode.com has more information.

Hi Diane,

Sorry I meant to say 'A program trying to access email addresses in Outlook'
(not Access).

Similar answer :) A program is trying to access information outlook blocks.
You don't say what version of outlook but the list of programs here will
help you identify the problem application:
