A question about menus

I'm trying to understand how the menu VBA stuff works in word.

I have read the "Add a menu to the menu bar and populate it with commands"
article at http://word.mvps.org/.

Can somebody suggest a more comprehensive overview of how to work with menus
and menuitems anywhere?

BTW. I understand that I will have to check if a menu exist before trying to
create it.
