A question regarding Contacts and PAB.

Greetings,

First of all, let me introduce my stuff. I am using Windows 2000 and
Office 2000 with Outlook for Workgroups.

I am trying to import entries from a .abx file (Corel 8 Suite Address
book) and I am sort of successful.

First, my file contains 50 entries and the Contacts window will get
them all. However, if I click on Tools->Address Book and choose to
display the entries from Contacts, it will not display them all.

Because of that and also because Outlook started to crash on my current
profile, I logged on using a different profile. There, I am able to
import the .abx file but now, it's worse. Again, the Contacts will show
when I click on it in the Outlook Shorcuts bar but this time, nothing
will show under Contacts if I go in Tools->Address Book.

Of course, my goal is to get all the Contacts to display so that I can
move them in the Personal Address Book and be able to find the .pab
related to it and use it for what I want.

Anyone can help? Thanks in advance!

Outlook uses Contacts Folders. It has not used a PAB for years, nor should
you. So forget that part. Then clarify the rest. State how you are doing
this import. Once the impart is done, have you verified that each Contact
Record has a valid, resolved email address in the correct field? If they
don't, they can't appear in the Outlook Address Book.

Some Contacts actually don't have an email address attached to it,
that's one thing resolved.

Actually, I am trying to import the Contacts to create either a .pst or
..pab file for sharing between two PCs. If I use the Contacts Folders,
will I get a file (either .pst or .pab) that I can share so one PC can
make changes and the other PC can access the updated Address Book?

Thanks

Again, you should not use PAB files. They are obsolete and not even
compatible with current Outlook versions.
PST files can only be "shared" if only one user accesses them at a time. If
that is the case, then just put the same PST file in both Outlook profiles.
