A rank newbie is lost...

I got a FrontPage Web Components project dropped in my lap from someone who
says "I think this can be done, why don't you look into it" (my boss). I
really don't know much about these components except what I've been able to
find out from MSDN. A lot of what I've read is how great the Web Components
are, but little in the way of instructional material, documentation of the
COM interfaces for OWC10, how I could use OWC10 in code, or samples. I've
been blindly searching for information, when I found this newsgroup. Can
anyone point out any books, etc, that can get me started in a coherent
manner instead of trying to search the labyrinth that is MSDN

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

I have only found two books on the subject, and one outstanding resource
person. The MS MVP is Alvin Bruney and his site is
http://devel.odessi.net/dotnet/tidbits/default.htm. Another good source of
information is the help files that come with OWC10. On my computer, the
default installation path is C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\Web Components\10\1033.

I tried the link and it didn't work. Do you know the author or name of the
book ?

Thanks
Mike

Qimao Zang Programing the OWC with ASP

You can mostly use what he has in there and directly apply it to ASP.NET
(with a little tylenol) it should work for the most part
