A required .DLL file, MSO97.DLL was not found.

Recently I have not been able to open Word and Excel and
get the error message in the subject line. I attempted to
restore the file from my backup program but it did not
restore it. I think I also attempted to reinstall Word
from the original disk but that did not help. I did not
run an uninstall. Can anyone help? Many thanks.
