a simple chart

Can any explain how to configure a simple date/percent
change line chart in Excel 2002. It seems impossible to
create one in 2002 Excel, for the dates configure in the
chart as a numerical range and the percentage range does
does no appear at all on any axis.

Arrange your data like so:

Percent
4-Jun-04 15%
3-Jun-04 17%
2-Jun-04 14%
etc.

The blank cell above the dates and to the left of the Percent column
label indicate to Excel that the first column and first row are not like
the rest of the data table.

Select the data (or just a single cell within the range of data) and run
the chart wizard. Excel automatically uses the first column for X values
and the first row for series names (legend entries).
