A template for side notes?

I have become a big fan of side notes ... in fact, when I'm on the phone and
I tell someone "let me grab a pen", what I'm actually doing is pressing the
"Windows + N" key combo to start a new side note.

Is there a way a different default templates for new side notes, just like
you can for new pages in a notebook section?

I've looked online extensively for an answer, but without any luck ...

Short answer: No. Even though you can assign a template to the Unfiled
Notes section (where Side Notes are created) that template does not get
applied to new Side Notes created in that section.

I imagine itis because one might use Side Notes for multiple reasons, and
restricting new Side Notes to a single template would be limiting.

I just ensure that several times a day I clear out any Side Notes I've
created and copy/paste the content into an appropriate other Page which
has a desired template applied to it.

So now I'm looking at maybe creating a work around, assigning a shortcut key
to a desktop shortcut that points to onenote.exe, and including the
applystationery command line switch ... but so far I'm having no luck with
the switch.

What exactly do you put in quotes following the switch? The help file says
the name of the template, but none of the variation I've tried have worked.
For example, I have a WYWO template ("while you were out") that looks like a
pink messagepad slip. So far I've tried the following combos:

1) "WYWO"
2) 'WYWO - My Templates"
3) A filepath that points ot the template saved as a single-page onenote
file in the stationery folder:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Templates\1033\ONENOTE\12\Stationery\WYWo_One"

Can you provide further instructions on the use of this switch? Or tell me
another way to trigger a new OneOote page based on a pre-defined template?

Thanks ...
