A toolbar default & templates?

Office XP Pro is running on this WinXP Pro system.

When I bring up Word it ALWAYS comes up with the Reviewing
toolbar enabled. I can turn it off via View/Toolbars; but I'd like
to free from this hassle. I've closed Word with the Review Toolbar
turned off, and rebooted the box; but it's always back for the next session.

While I'm on it. Is there a way under Office XP Pro Word to go right
to the General Templates selection window? In pulling down File/New
I'd like to permanentlay skip the intermediate "new doc help" window
that pops up on the right side.

There's must be a config file someplace?

Thanks in advance! And Happy Holidays!

Hi, Joe,

Try deleting (or renaming) the normal.dot file from your hard drive and
re-launching Word. Does that fix it?

Susan,
Got it! "Reviewing" toolbar is part of standard config for Normal.dot
under Docs&Settings/<user>/AppData/Microsoft/Templates.

Now if I could get rid of the "New Doc" pop up window on the
right. I'd like to pull up the tabbed Templates windows straight
away and eliminate the intermediate step.
