A very large message is stuck in my outbox and won't delete

I accidentally pressed 'send' after attaching five photos without reducing
the size. I realised it would create a problem when it was still sending
five minutes later and ten minutes later. I could not delete it nor open the
message as it said message had already begun to transmit. That was one week
ago - it is still trying to send each time I press send/receive and slowing
down everything - it is very frustrating and causing problems for me running
my home business.
Please help! I tried the office assistant option of going to Outlook in
safe mode. The firewall option arguably was not applicable in my case, nor
did I feel comfortable trying option 3 - I don't think that would have worked.

Select File->Work Offline. Completely close Outlook (use Task Manager to
verify) then reopen and delete from Outbox.
