Is there a way in microsoft project 2007 to automatically notify employees of
projects that are incomplete and past the deadline?

example: task is due for completion on tue 7/24/07 and has a completion
percentage of 95%. obviously this task wasnt completed on time and someone
needs to know.

is there a way to set up an email notification for incomplete past-deadline
tasks that will automatically email the person who is responsible for that
task?

Project Server 2007 used in conjunction with Project Professional 2007
handles this.

One of the MVPs made a recent post on the same subject using MS Project
2003. I have pasted her response below for your information. You will have
to draw your own conclusions about applicability to P2007.

We do not use Server here. Instead we create filters for exactly what you
are showing and then get on the phone with the Control Account Manager

Hello Tom,

I'm afraid that is not possible out of the box. Microsoft has made
available a workgroup messaging download that has some capability for
email integration. However, there is no support for this solution and
there have been some recent posts about some difficulties with the
message handler. See below for a link to the knowledge base article
including a link to the download.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
