A way to "lock in" the "Expand All" view option in My Tasks?

I've got the default set to check all 4 view options and "preach" the
efficiency gained by this setting. However, some of my users love
unchecking "Expand All", but then after they uncheck, Apply, then
return to the screen later on, the Expand All option is checked again.

Is there a way to help them "lock" the setting in?

Andy,

I allow my users to modify their "Personal View" so that they can configure
the settings the way they want and it will remain that way. To return to the
standard view they just change back to the "Shared View".
