A word file has resaved itself as D:\. How do I get it open

I have a long word deocument which needs to go forward for editing. I saved
it as a C:\ document but it has surfaced as a D:\ document which I can'r
open. Help please, in simple terms so that I can open it and not have to
rewrite the whole thing.
