A2 paper size

Hi,

I'm trying to define an A2 paper size in Word, but it says that 55,87 cm.
is the maximum (and A2 is 42 x 59,4 cm. - or 16,5 x 23,4 in).
I've tryed to install severall printers to see if any gave the A2 size, but
couldn't find any.
I've searched the KB and found only a reference about A2 envelopes (wich is
not the same). Is it possible to have A2 paper size in Word?
I'm using Win2000/Word2002, but a friend with WinXP/WordXP can't do it
also.

Thanks,

Ok. Thank you.

It's just funny that, if we have an A2 capable printer (I was planning on
making a sign in word and printing it on an A2 printer of a friend's
friend), we can't use it from Word...
Why this limit? I also have Writer (the Word equivalent in OpenOffice
suite - I have the 1.1.0. version), and it permits an 119 x 119 cm. paper
size. Unfortunatly my friend's friend doesn't have it and is not very
interested in installing anything on his machine... :-(

Do you know if there's an alternative for having an A2 paper size?

Thanks,

A lot of programs will work with large paper. Some printer drivers also have
the option of blowing up the print size, so you can create it in Word as A4,
then print it at A3 or A2 size.

Oh, that's great...

As this "blowing up" is going to occur, I presume that we should use only
TrueType fonts? Or else we get an awfull result...
What do you think?

Very likely your printer Properties do have some provision for scaling, but
you might also have a look at Publisher, if you have it, since it provides
support for larger-format printing.

No reason to think that. In fact, if you're working with professional
graphics products, Type 1 fonts work better. (Corel even provides the option
of switching off TrueType fonts entirely.)
