Able to designate field (e.g., Name) for header/footer on pages

In brief communications, particularly letters or forms, it would be helpful
to have the ability to tag a field so it showed up in the header or footer.
So if I am writing a quick care note to another doc I can somehow tag the
name field so it shows up at the top of each page (even better, with the
date).

I wholeheartedly agree with this one! It sounds like Rand is in the medical
field, as am I, where having patient identifiers on every page of a form is
absolutely essential. Being able to create dynamic headers/footers would
make life so much easier.

I know that this is an old post - so not sure if there was ever a fix that
was released to be able to tag fields as headers or not. Or, if anyone knows
a work around would be great. We are also in the medical field but not
having this feature in Infopath prevents a lot of our forms from being
created in InfoPath. Problem I have is our form might be only 4 pages in
length but most if not all of the fields are set to be expandable - by the
time the form is filled out completely - it could grow from 4 pages without
any data entry to as many as 10 - 13 pages once filled out - they do a lot of
narratives in some of the fields.

Yes, this is a much requested feature. If it takes voting "I Agree" to make this happen - count me in... I already voted.

I believe that InfoPath 2007 now allows you to include fields in your header/footer.

I can't find the way to include dynamic text or graphics to header/footer. I
belive this was not include in 2007 version.
Does any one know?

I am also in a medical office and having patient identifiers on each page is
mandatory for us.

I have our Infopath forms linked to a SharePoint site. When patient
information is selected in the form, everything works great in the body of
the form.

However, using Infopath 2007, I am inserting the same fields into my header
that I use in the form. Instead of inserting the current patient name and
social security number in the header, it always inserts the FIRST record from
my sharepoint list.

In other words, when I print the form I see all the correct patient info in
the body but the header has another patients name and SS number.

Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions or info would be greatly
appreciated!
