Abnormal program termination

Hi,

When I try to run/install some programs
under Windows NT Wkst 4.0 SP 6a
I get the following messages:
A Fatal Error has occured
Click OK to Quit

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Program ...(path)...
abnormal program termination
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

I am sending my request to this newsgroup
because the programs I have problem with
at the moment are courses of Word 97/2000
and Excel97/2000.
What is strange, I was able to install and run
courses of Word2002 and Excel2002 without
any problems.
The above messages about errors I got in the
past when I tried to install other programs too
so I also sent my request to the newsgroup
for windowsnt but till now without any reply.

I have tried to find a solution using Google
but I haven't found any similar situation.

Please help me.

Regards,
EZ

Thanks for your reply.
See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=555220 "WD: How to
Troubleshoot a Visual C++ Runtime Error in Word".
My problem is not with Word or Excel themselves but with third party
courses to learn Excel and Word.
I sent my request to this newsgroup because I thought that someone
who uses Office97/2000 encountered a similar problem.
Now I think that the problem is in Windows NT itself or simply the courses
weren't created to run under NT.
However I read the page you've suggested and I downloaded the Process
Explorer. But I wasn't able to use it according to the method 4 (with the
course instead of the WinWord) because the courses use the entire display
and I coudn't run the Process Explrer after running the course.

EZ
