Abnormal Termination When Switching Profiles

C

Cliff

I get the following error when I switch profiles in Outlook 2002:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library (Path to Outlook.exe) Abnormal Program
Termination

After Outlook terminates I can start it and select the same profile again
with no problems. Everything will work fine until I try to switch back to
the other profile and the error will occur again. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Cliff

Hi - you can't 'switch' profiles in Outlook - you have to log out of
Outlook, and then log in, and choose the profile you wish (after setting it
up to prompt you).

Is that what you're doing?

I setup 2 profiles. The problem occurs when I start Outlook and select the
profile that is different from the one I used the last time I started
Outlook.

Thanks,
Cliff

I've got the same or a similar problem. Just did a HD
format and clean install of Windows XP and then SP2.
Configured Outlook with 3 profiles and everything was
working fine.

I then installed Norton Internet Security and I'm now
getting the same problem you are. Everytime I start
Outlook with a different profile then the last time I
started it I get the Runtime error. If I start Outlook
again with that same new profile selected then it works.
If I quit and start it again with the original profile
selected then I start the whole error process over.

I tried lots of Norton config changes and even disabled
it all but the error persists.

Do you have a Norton product installed?

Does anyone have an idea what is wrong?

Did you untick the add-in in Outlook?
