To who may concern:
I bought a home and student edition of office Mac. However, I don't know how to use the product keys show on the box. There are three, but when I installed the program, the computer screen showed another product key (or is it product ID)? I never typed in any of the product key on the box... What's it for? Does that mean I already registered?

Well all I can say (until someone more knowledgeable shows up) is that
you're supposed to input a product key when you install: I also have
the home and student edition and that was what I did. Now to ensure
that office is using your product key follow the directions here:

"Remove and reenter the Office 2008 product key"

==========

Remove and reenter the Office 2008 product key

If your copy of Office 2008 was installed with an invalid product key,
or if you mistakenly used the same product key to install Office 2008
on more than one computer, you must remove the invalid product key and
enter a valid product key to use Office 2008.
1. In the Finder, select /Applications/Microsoft Office
2008/Office/OfficePID.plist, and then on the File menu, click Move to
Trash.
2. Select /Users/username/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office
2008/Microsoft Office 2008 settings.plist, and then on the File menu,
click Move to Trash.
3. On the Apple menu, click Restart.
4. After your computer restarts, open any Office 2008 application.
The Office Setup Assistant opens.
5. Accept the software license agreement, and then enter your valid
product key.
The product key is located on the back of the Office 2008 for Mac DVD
sleeve or on the back of the Install Guide.

I bought a home and student edition of office Mac. However, I don't know how
to use the product keys show on the box. There are three, but when I installed

ID)? I never typed in any of the product key on the box... What's it for? Does

The 3 keys on the box are Product Keys also called CD Keys. During the
install you can see a registration key that can be used for support. It's
not necessary to register Office for Mac like it is to "activate" Office for
Windows.

I installed Office:Mac on my iMac which is shared by myself and my 3 children each with a different user login. Installation was done with my login. When the other users logged in however, Office does not seem to be available to them for use. Is this the expected outcome? Or am I right to assume that a product key is good for one machine but any number of users as long as they do not use the product concurrently.
Thanks

You may need to allocate permission to each user through the Account
preferences depending on how you set the accounts up. Check them first.

Did you install in the root application folder or your User's application
folder? Applications installed in the root folder are available for all
users.
