Hi,

In our projects are running and i have no mention any resource availabiltiy
..

I have three questions.

FIRST:
what is resource availability about resource and if will not mention start
projects what will be the effect in projects or in other work.

SECOND:
if i had not mention any resource availability information before and if
want to mention after projects implementation is it any wrong effect on my
projects or reporting .

THIRD:
Is resource availability dates range will enter in resource pool and it is
necessary that i will mention resource availability dates in resource pool
on the individual basis .
if the resources in the resources pool will be more than 200 and may be 1000
it will be time consuming task and effort task

Hi Basim ,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Project uses the data about how many of a resource type there is and when it
is available. It needs this information so that it doesn't schedule a
resource to carry out a task when it is not physically available. If you
don't specify this data at the start, and then later enter the data, project
will re-calculate all schedules using the resource, thus probably affecting
many other projects. This is designed behaviour and should be exactly what
you want. Hiding the fact that a resource isn't available will still not
get the task done because he is not there to do it! There is no easy way of
doing this, though I would recommend a resource's availability is actually
recorded in his personal calendar through Tools/Change Working Time.../and
select the resource name.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://www.mvps.org/project/

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
