Academic Edition Office 2003

P

Pamela Rosen

I just purchased an academic edition of Office 2003 Professional. What is
the difference between the regular retail version and this one? I will be
using this while in school. The box said to install on only one computer,
and the MS website up to 3 computers. I want to install on my laptop too;
will there be a problem?
TIA,
Pamela

There's a difference between the "Academic Edition" and the
"Students&Teachers Edition", as strange as that sounds. The Students and
Teachers edition may be installed on up to 3 machines; you'll need to read
the license for the Academic edition to see if it allows a parallel install
on your personal laptop.

1. GRANT OF LICENSE. Microsoft grants you the following rights provided
that you comply with all terms and conditions of this EULA:
1.1 Installation and use. You may:
(a) install and use a copy of the Software on one personal computer or
other device; and
(b) install an additional copy of the Software on a second, portable device
for the exclusive use of the primary user of the first copy of the Software.

The above is from the EULA from the software. I take it to mean that I can
install on my laptop.
Also, is there any difference in the programs from the retail version?

thanks,
Pamela

I don't know of any difference between the Academic Edition and the regular
standard edition, except who is eligible to install it.
