What is the difference in the Academic version of office products, vs. the
regular version?
The physical program has all the same functionality as the commercial
versions. Therefore there is no physical difference in the programs. Word
2007 is Word 2007, etc. The difference is in the qualifications to purchase
and use the programs and some educational licensed versions will die when
the license for that product expires and/or the student moves from the
school. Other educational versions are perpetual licensed which means they
never expire. You need to be sure of what you are getting when purchasing
an academic or educational license. Some Educational/Academic licenses can
only be installed on one physical computer similar to an OEM version while
others can be installed on two systems using the retail license verbiage
The Home and Student version of the software is restricted to non-commercial
use only and can be installed onto three computers within the same
household.
