Hi. I am wondering if any of you know how to manage this problem. In my
master's thesis, there are several references by people from central
and Eastern Europe who have names with accents over the consonants.
Everything I have been able to find addresses accented vowels, or the
common Spanish/French accents. Applyin the keystroke process don't work
with the consonants I need (primarily c).

A search of the Web just returns the keystrokes I already know. Has
anyone ever had to deal with this?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

This is a very well discussed topic. Google the group for "macron".

The answer depends on whether you are using Word 2004 or an earlier
version.

You need a couple of things:
- make sure the font you are using supports these characters
- use the character palette to select and add them to your text.

You can create special shortcuts for these letters, but they won't use
the same key-combination as accented aeiouy unless you use a different
input method (keyboard-layout).
