Access 2.0 on Win XP & 2K3

I have an Access 2.0 database that if stored on a Windows 2003 Server and
this server has an ODBC connection to this database.

I have 2 Win XP Clients with Access 2.0 installed that access this database
through a file share.

Since I have moved this database from a W2K server to a W2K3 server they are
continually getting message saying they can't access the database or the
file is locked. I confirmed they are not opening the db in Exclusive mode as
well.

Has anyone dealt with this or have any suggestions?

Thanks.

Make sure that the folder permissions are set so they have all rights rxcept
Full Control.

what service pack on 2003 server?
SP1 = bad, problem like this sometimes
SP2 = good,
SP3 = ??

Also, note that Jet 4 (Office 2000,2002,2003,2007) is not
compatible with Access 2.0. You cannot use Access 2.0
/Jet 2.5 on the same file at the same time that you use Jet 4.0

Access 2.0 does not have an exclusive mode, and does not
try to delete the lockfiles on shut down. However, you
need to create the lock files, even if your users do not
have permission to do so.
