Access 2000 mde in Access 2003

Posted this question before and did not get an answer.
Can you create an mde file in Access 2000 and have it run
in Access 2003 on XP? Have distributed a 2000 mde file
and the user gets unrecognized database format error.

Yes. You can create an Access 2000 mde, and use it with Access 2003.

An Access 2000 MDE file is compatible with Access 2003. I just tested this
on my computer. My OS is Windows XP Pro with all of the latest updates and
patches for both the OS and Office 2003.

If a user is getting an "unrecognized database format" error message, then
either the file is corrupted or the user is opening the file with an earlier
version of Access than was used to create the MDE file.
