Access 2000 & Networking....

Eric

If the network crashed, would it be possible that this
would screw up some repoorts that were in an Access
database that is shared across this P2P network? Is it
fixable? Can it be restored from a safe date? What
happened?

Of course you were doing backups, that goes without
saying! Restore from a backup. Be sure to compact and
repair before letting anyone else use it, that will fix or
remove any "bad" reports. If they are removed, you can
restore to a different .mdb file and import them into the
database. If you weren't doing backups, you have my pity,
having been there, plus you have the benefit of "now you
are smarter".

The only way to interpret that the "network crashed" and
you have a peer to peer network is that one of the peers
crashed. On a P2P there is no "network" but the PC's
themselves.

What happened? possibly the power was shutoff on the
computer that physically homes the database .mdb file
while it was open. Get a UPS for that computer and train
or fire the bozo that did it.
