Access 2000 OLE

I'm running Access 2000 in Win XP pro.
I can't get access to link to Photoshop 7's .jpg, .gif or .tif.
Links to Microsoft Paint's .jpg works fine.
How do I get Access to link Photoshop's .jpg's?

Thanks in advance,

Bayard

I'm not sure that I understand your problem. There can be only 1 registered
application that acts as an OLE server. If you have Paint registered, then
you can't have Photoshop registered. When you double-click any jpg, it will
open with the registered application.

When I double click a .jpg in either the directory or in access in a
Link field, it opens the picture in Photoshop ok.

But when I link a bounded object with a control source an OLE field,
I get an Icon and file name in the object frame for Photoshop created
..jpg's. If the OLE field contains the link to a Paint generated
..jpg, then the image is displayed in the object frame. (The same
image used from Photoshop is loaded into Paint, then saved as a
a renamed .jpg.)

I don't know exactly what you mean by "registered application". Is there
some place in Access for associating file types with an application
other than in Windows (Tools > Folder options)?

I've searched for reference to this problem, found a couple of similar
questions but no answers.

I appreciate any help you can give me!!

Photoshop uses file headers (because it also runs on a Mac) that are not
recognized by OLE servers. You need to associate the files through the
Windows (Tools ... Folders ...) with an OLE compliant server/viewer. I use
Microsoft Photo Editor, but you may not have that on your machine.
