When a user tried to install an Access 2000 application I
created from an InstallShield installation which uses
Access 2000 redistributable object(Access 2000 runtime),
it overwrote Access 97 on their machine.
After doing a search on their machine, I only found 1 copy
of msaccess.exe, and it's Access 2000. Access 97 is no
longer there, and all other programs which need and use
Access 97 try to open in Access 2000 with an error which
reads, "Cannot find Key Value ... for Profile Key ..." or
something like that.
Also, all database(*.mdb) icons are now maroon instead of
Access97 yellow key icon.
Why did my installation remove Office 97 or Access 97 from
their machine? I would have expected only the runtime
version of Access 2000 to install for my program only
