Access 2000 problems on HP Windows xp

BDolmetsch

I brought an existing application from another Windows xp computer to a new HP computer also running Windows XP and am having a lot of strange problems: when opening a form, it reports errors in code associated with several events, including Load, GetFocus and others. When I examine the code associated with the events, the computer displays a blank rectangle where I'm used to seeing the code

I've had similar luck with another HP computer. I just ditched the computer (at a point it was no longer worth the effort.), but now am wondering: is the problem the Access 2000, the HP, the fact that I'm using DAO (sort of a legacy system) or something else

Hi,

Check your library references within your database. Open the Visual Basic
Editor window and select the menu option Tools > References

Very possible that you may have a MISSING reference.

Is it possible on the other computer you were using an ActiveX control
that's installed on the old computer but not on the new computer?

Other things to try is download and install the latest version of the
Microsoft JET Database Engine, see: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=239114

and re-register DAO360.dll, see Method 1 in:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;248790

I hope this helps! If you have additional questions on this topic, please
respond back to this posting.
