Access 2000 runtime requires Administrator Righs

David

I have an Access 2000 application that has been running
with the Access 2000 runtime, under W98.

As we are getting new computers, we have seeen that in
order to get the application to run, the user must be
logged with administration rights to the local PC in
order to get the application to run. Otherwise, the
application won't load.

Any ideas?

NT machines / Windows 2000 and Windows XP machines have
more advanced options for installing programs. Typically to get
the program to install properly, you'd need administrative rights.

Once it's installed you may or may not need the administrative
rights after that. To get the app to install, you can do one of two
things typically, either logon as an Administrator to install the
app, or Run the App as an Administrator. There's a RunAs
command available to do this. Another option is to give the
appropriate permissions to the enduser so they can run and/or
install the app.

Hope that helps.
