Is there any way around this?
An Access database distributed with the runtime is itself unaltered and can
be opened with full Access. I am not certain that an MDE file can be opened
with a different version of full Access, but I believe it can.
First, I am not sure what "problem" it is that you need a "way around".
Run the install package, then try to open the MDB or MDE file with Access
2002. It's likely to open just fine and you can disregard the Access 2000
runtime. If it is an MDE and does not open, then try it with the Access 2000
runtime.
