Access 2000 start up error

Hi all
Had to rebuild a Windows 2000 partition.
Installed O2000 Premium
Installed SQL 2000
Installed SP1

Now access will not start - cannot create a new, or open an existing mdb .
I get "An error occurred and this feature is no longer function properly"
Then " Cannot find system.mdw"
If I dbl click an xx.mdb file I get a ridiculous message "the file xxx.mdb
does not exist"
followed by the 2 messages above.

Uninstall - re-install etc etc.

Any suggestins appreciated

Reformated - reloaded - loaded SQL before Access and all came OK
