Access 2000 to Excel 2000 Date problems

Hi,

I'm taking Access data that has been placed into an Excel file using
Tools:Office Links:Analyze it with Excel in Access.

I'm having a problem in Excel sorting dates. The problem occurs when I need
to fill in a date that's been left blank. Any date that I enter into Excel
doesn't sort correctly. The cell is formatted for dates, but Excel is not
seeing it as a date.

I'm not sure why this is happening.
