Access 2000 uninstall issue

Will

I have several machines using Access 2000 running on
Windows 2000 Pro. After installing Windows SP4 and all
Critical Updates as of 10/17, Access gives an error. You
can open the database, but you cannot use any toolbar
buttons, file menus, or any other function in the
database. The error I receive is: "This application must
be installed to run. Please run Setup from the location
where you originally installed the application."

For the most part I have found a fix for the problem. I
have to uninstall Access completely and then re-install
it. However, I have one PC that is giving me problems.
When I attempt to uninstall it through Add/Remove
Programs (both change and remove) it goes through the
motions like it is uninstalling. Then at the end the
status bar goes backwards two or three times and I get a
message that says the the uninstall was successful. But
Access is still on the PC.

Does anyone know a way that I can remove Access so that I
can install a fresh copy?

Thanks,
Will

Will,

Don't have a link handy, but support.microsoft.com has some
cleanup tools for uninstalling the various versions of
Office. You may have to lose the whole Office install as
well as Access, but you can just reinstall everything with
no problem.
