Access 2000 Web Development

Hi:

I am attempting to use Access 2000 in development of a web based
application and have run into an instant problem!
I have tables and querys (simple ones) and want to make a web based
data access page. I go to {Pages} and activate {create data access
page in design view}, and a blank page appears. HOWEVER there appears
to be no way that I can view a field list (as I can with a normal
form). The Field list box contains the word Database .. with a red x
behind it.

Can someone tell me how to get data on a page please.

I have looked in the Help section, and it is not very helpful for a
neophyte.
