Access 2000 won't open databases

I just recently install a fresh version of windows 2000
Pro and office 2000. All the programs in office work fine.
I went to open an old database that i have (created by
access 2000) and it won't open. I tried opening others, no
go. I tried creating a new one. No luck. I tried removing
access and reinstalling it. Still no luck. then I removed
Office entirely and reinstalled the whole thing (every
feature). Still nothing. Please help my next step is to
start over and reinstall windows from scratch again.

Have you tried opening Access and selecting Tools, Database Utilities,
Compact and Repair Database..... ?
