Access 2002/97

I have been asked to help an individual with a db he
inherited. He has XP pro on his laptop with Access 2002.
I believe the db was originally written in Access97. When
he tries to open it he gets error "There is no object in
this control", then "Object or class does not support the
set of events..." I do not know for sure if the db was
converted when he started using it. He is able to log on
to a different PC and run the app with no conflict. I
have re-installed his Access but did not help.

Hi,

My name is Amy Vargo. Thank you for using the Microsoft Access Newsgroups.

It sounds like there might be a missing reference in the database or you
might need to register dao360.dll. To check, open the database and go to
Modules. Click New to create a new module. This will open the Visual
Basic Editor window. Go to Tools, References. Look at the list of checked
references. If any are preceeded by the word "missing", uncheck that
reference. Click ok, then close and save the module. Now test to see if
you get the error.

Also, you might need to register dao360.dll on that machine. Do do so,
open a search window and search for dao360.dll. Open a second search
window and search for regsvr32.exe. Align both windows side-by-side and
drag the icon for dao360.dll ontop of the icon for regsvr32.exe. You
should get a message that the file registered successfully.

I hope this helps! If you have additional questions on this topic, please
respond back to this posting.
