Access 2002 unrecognized format error

The blue lock implies that someone is in the databas
(maybe even you running a shortcut to try to get in) If
you copy and paste the database into an empty folder and
then open it in the new folder - you will get the same
error message box - but now you should be able to click
on the yes to compact and repair the database. After
microsoft repairs itself - copy an past the database into
the original file - this should overwirte the corrrupt
copy and allow you to open it

This is my help desk ticket to solve: I have a Access
database that cannot be opened. The error reads, "This
database is in an unrecognized format. The database may
have been created with a later version of Microsfot
Access than you are using, upgrade to a later version and
then open the database"... I am using Access 2002, but
the real problem here is that this db was created years
ago. Also the icon representing this DB has a blue lock
on it, which I have not seen before. In order for my
client to open this database, she had to go into IE, feed
in the IP address of the server on which this DB resides,
and add it to the trusted sites list. Does anyone have
any thoughts on this??
