access 2003 crashing

Suddenly get errmsg Titled Microsoft Office Access as follows:
Microsoft Office Access has encountered a problem and needs to
close.
This message appears any time I try to open any code, whether a module
or a form or report module.
It only occurs in a single Db, but it doesn't respond to repair &
compact. I can't even import the Db
piecemeal into a new Db, as I get the same errmsg when the Old Db is
"opened" for importing.
Any suggestions as to what to do about this would be appreciated.

Access 2003 became much more unstable (for development) after the SP3 Patch
(as determined by the many separate development sites on our client's
servers ) On at least two separate servers I had to remove access 2003
entirely and then re-install it and then only install patches to the SP2
level. I proved this out on one of the servers... SP2 everything works
fine add SP3 Access starts crashing, rebuild back to SP2 everything good
again.

If you don't want to do that... then try decompiling the mdb then
recompiling the code before the compact and repair. Also I highly recommend
backing up the mdb before and during each development session. Eventually
the crashing ends up corrupting the module beyond repair, and then you have
to fall back to the latest back up. Hopefully it won't be a days work or
more old.

Good luck
