Access 2003 Datasheet as a Subform

I have created a subform from a query however, I'm not allowed to add or edit
records on the subform. I have the add, edit, and delete properties set to
"yes". In addition, how do you remove the record navigation buttons and
activate a new record on the datasheet? Sorry if this question is rather
elementry, but I have now read three Microsoft books and numerous messages
and can't find the answers.

Bud,

The first thing to check is to open the query that is the source of your
datasheet. Can you edit or add records to it? If not it is probably a "non-
updateable" query. Check out the "Why is my Query Read Only" on Allen
Brownes site (http://www.allenbrowne.com/ser-61.html).

Generally, I intentionally make any subforms that I display in datasheet mode
as not updateable. I then add a button to the main form to add a new record
to the subform, and actually pop-up a new data input form to enter the data.
Then, when the form closes, I requery the subform to add the new record to
its display.
