Access 2003 executes query when opening other office apps

I'm encountering this annoying "bug" repeatedly, but can't reproduce it
on a consistent basis. When I'm in Access 2003 - if I switch to
another office app - like Excel or Word - or if I try to compose a new
message in Outlook - Access will try to execute the current highlighted
query or table and copy it to memory. I have no idea why it does this.
Many times, it will utilize the system CPU at 99% and gets stuck there
and freeze all office related activities. If I kill the Access app -
the other offce apps related activities will finally continue, like the
empty new message will finally pop up in Outlook. Anybody else
encountered this? This happens on different computers too...

Very Strange indeed.

1. Make sure that your keyboard and mouse aren't sticky or defective. You
say that this happens on other computers so it's not all that likely unless
you are all sloppy coffee and soda drinkers. ;-)

2. How are you switching to other programs? Mouse clicks on the Task Bar or
Alt+Tab? If you use a different way to get to Excel, does it still happen.

3. Do you have one of those switch boxes so that you can jump between
computers and use the same keyboard and mouse? Mind sometimes sticks and does
strange things unless I wait about 5 seconds before using the keyboard or
mouse.

4. Search all your Access code behind Forms, Reports, Modules and even
macros to see if there is anything calling on Exchange or Outlook.

5. Search Outlook to see if something is going on there with Access.
