Access 2003 running windows installer after SP 2

I installed service pack 2 for office 2003 and now when I start Access 2003 I
get a windows installer dialog and it appears as if office is installing
access all over again. This happens each time I start Access 2003. I have
Windows XP and the latest service pack installed. Anyone have any
suggestions?

Hi Mark,

Do you have MS Access 2003 installed as a standalone app?
If so, what other MS Office family products and editions
do you have installed?

It could be a corrupted Local Install Source (LIS) or
a registry glitch or a stuck file.

Can you complete Detect & Repair from the Access 2003 Help menu?

I have Office 2003 and out of all the applications, Access is the only one to
launch windows installer when I start it. I've tried everything including
what you suggested and just decided to not install service pack 2 at this
time.

Did you install SP2 from a network location or from a file (downloaded or on
CD)?

I am having the same problem! Every time I start Access 2003 it runs
through the installer again. This started after SP2 install. If I click a a
shortcut to a database, it will say it can't be found, start the installer,
and then open the database anyway. It always completes just fine, but does
it again the next time. I have tried reinstalling, detect and repair, and
everything else I can think of. If anyone has any ideas, I would love to
hear them! I think it might be a registry key, but I don't know which one.
I have running it with Server 2003 w/ terminal services. Office 2003 small
business edition is installed and access was installed as a standalone.
Thanks in advance!
