Access 2003 startup error re macro security levels

Jon

I have just installed Access 2003 and now when I open any previously created
database I get a dialog asking if I want to enable macros of VBA scripts
with potentially malicious code. According to the help I should be able to
set the macro security setting to low, much as has been possible in previous
versions of Word, Excel etc, but I do not have a Security menu item under
Macros. Any clues as to how do can stop this behaviour?

Try seeing if you can add the command to the menu:

1) Go to Tools->Customize...
2) Press the "Rearrange Commands" button
3) Select "Tools | Macros" from the Menu Bar dropdown
4) Press the "Add" button
5) Select "Tools" from the left had listbox
6) Select "Security..." from the tight hand listbox
7) OK, Close, Close

Hi Scott - thanks, this fixed the problem. For your (MS's) info I had tried
to do exactly this prior to posting my message, and couldn't find the
security item in the new Customise dialog boxes and gave up. Knowing that it
was there somewhere after reading your message I perservered and finally
found it, but it sure ain't intuitive! Maybe an 'all' item with the commands
in alphabetical order? Anyway, thanks!
