Access 2003 won't start

Hello all,

Up until recently I had Access 2002 and Office 2003 (with Access 2003)
coexisting fairly peacefully on an XP sp 2 machine. I had to put up
with the windows installer messages when switching between the two
versions of Access but at least it worked. I recently installed a
windows update, something to do with .net 2.0. In order to perform
this update I had to use the Windows Installer clean up utility to get
rid of .net 2.0 and then reinstall .net 2.0. After this my Access
2002 would no longer start, although I would get the windows installer
messages. I reinstalled Access 2002 but after restarting my machine
Access 2002 works but Access 2003 now will not start. Again, I get
the windows installer messages but it does not start. I tried doing a
detect and repair and also reinstalling from the Office 2003 CD but in
both cases the installer insisted that it couldn't find the original
installation media or something to that effect. Again, I went back to
the Windows Installer clean up utility and blew away Office 2003 and
reinstalled it but this did not help. All of my other Office 2003
programs work fine, so I did a detect and repair from Outlook 2003.
Again, this did not help. At this point all of my Office 2003
programs except Access work fine. Access 2002 works fine. Access
2003 gives me the standard Windows Installer messages but does not
ever actually start. What can I do to get Access 2003 working again?
Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Bruce
