I have a frontend that resides on a Server Pointer and a Local copy to my
documents folder as a test base. The problem is when I try to open the
frontend on the server in exclusive mode under my name, I am in the Admins
group with total permissions so I can do a design change to a form, it says I
can't open the database in exclusive mode and opens in shared mode, but when
I go to the local copy on my machine, I can open the frontend in exclusive
mode, no problem.
What gives? Why one and not the other?

Hi -

check that you have the correct file permissions (i.e. file update) on
the file folder in the network. If the network file permissions don't
give you update permission, MS Access permissions won't either. Another
thing to check is that no one else is using the network copy when you
try to open it in exclusive mode.
