Access 2007 ACCDE file and SP1

Ivan

Hello,

after instaling Access 2007 SP1 we have just found out that the users in our
company who don't have the latest SP when they try to run an SP1 - ACCDE
file they get the message:

"This database is in an unrecognized format. The database may have been
created with a later version of Microsoft Office Access than the one you are
using. Upgrade your version of Microsoft Office Access to current one, then
open this database."

Another message was also there: "The Visual basic for applications project
in the database is corrupt."

Does that mean, that with SP1 edition Microsoft has changed the version of
access ?

Ivan, can you still open the database on PCs with SP1 installed? If
would not suspect that MS has changed the file format between service
packs so please check if it's openable at all.

WAIT!! There is a problem.

I can't quite figure it out since I see users that have Access Runtime
with the same exact error message. In my situation:

1) Me - Access 2007 Dev Pack - No SP - AOK
2) Them - Access 2007 Dev Extensions - SP1 - CANNOT RUN MY SOFTWARE.

There is a weird problem here. Sorry for the caps but V8 has the
better of me.

And even though I'm spamming your thread here - there is a confirmed
problem. Check the Access Blog for details. Roll back SP1 and throw
holy water on the whole f***ing thing cause the Access boys must have
been drinking the night before. I just got hosed with the same issue
and I'm cursing like a f... ,er, trooper.

Thanks James,

in the mean time I have got some insights into these cirumstances
(http://blogs.msdn.com/access/archive/2007/12/11/2007-sp1-is-ready.aspx).
Luckily for me and my colleague (we develop in access only for my company)
is the fact that we can upgrade Access 2007 to SP1 in whole company. And we
have done this today for all hundred and some of users. I am sorry but for
all you guys, who don't have such an exit from the pretty complicated
situation.

Ivan

By the way - to answer to your question - we are still using Windows XP
(with SP :) ).
