Access 2007 error message 3049

I am attaching .jpg images to botanical records on a form using the
attachments control. Every so often a dialog box appears on closing the
attachments pop-up which says 'Cannot open database ".It may not be a
database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt'
When I click on help it lists this as Error 3049. Repairing the database
doesn't help
Eventually the database crashes and I have to restore from a backup which is
frustrating as I am having to re-enter lots of data

1. Are you the only one using this database?
2. Is it a split db (Frontend/Backend)?
3. Is it on a network location?

sounds to me like Jet isn't reliable enough for your needs.

I'd reccomend upsizing to SQL Server and ADP.

Hi Bob
1. I am a single user and designed the database myself, but am a real novive
with code
2. No it isn't split
3. No it isn't on a network

Following another tip I am going create a new database, import objects from
the old one, and turn off 'perform name autocorrect' in the current database
options

Do you think this is a good idea?

Just as a test I would try /decompile on the file and see if it cures it. I
have had this issue twice now when deleting a module from the file. On one
occasion it left the module name but stated it didn't exist in the editor
window. A decompile fixed both and then of course do a compress/repair.
Make sure you have a backup before starting.
