access 2007 import object

I try to import a picture as an object both linked and embedded. Either way
it inserts as a small icon. Note: icon display not checked. The pic is in
bmp form. It still dosen't work. The same would happen in Access 2003.
This software is a joke. Does anyone have an answer?
